Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced System Integration/Architecture Lead to drive the design, integration, and development of products for our mobility network spanning FWA ( Fixed Wireless ) and IoT devices.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wireless technologies (4G, 5G), broadband devices, and network infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in ensuring seamless integration across hardware, firmware, and software components. You will collaborate with cross- functional teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and secure broadband products that meet evolving market demands.
Key Responsibilities
System Architecture Design:
o Lead the architecture design and system definition for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) broadband devices (e.g., 4G/5G CPEs, router modems) and IoT devices ( NB-IOT, Cat1 etc.)
o Define technical specifications, system architecture documents, and integration strategies for broadband products.
o Architect solutions integrating 4G/5G radio access networks with broadband technologies to ensure high performance and reliability.
o Make key decisions regarding hardware, firmware, software, and networking architecture to meet product and market requirements.
System Integration:
o Oversee end-to-end system integration activities for FWA and broadband devices, ensuring seamless functionality between 4G/5G, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet interfaces.
o Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and firmware engineers, to drive product integration and feature validation.
o Address system integration challenges, ensuring that connectivity, data throughput, and performance meet product KPIs.
o Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize system issues, particularly at the interface between FWA/IoT devices, broadband protocols, and network infrastructure.
o Technical Leadership:
o Lead and mentor a small team of engineers focused on system design, architecture, and integration.
o Troubleshoot integration and field issues
o Collaborate with product managers, hardware, software, and QA teams to ensure alignment on product development timelines and deliverables.
o Lead technical reviews and evaluations for new technologies, baseband processors, and solutions.
o Guide the implementation of advanced technologies like 5G NR, carrier aggregation, mmWave ensuring integration into broadband devices.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Interface with key stakeholders such as internal teams ( business , IT teams ) , partners and suppliers ( ODM and SoC vendors ) to ensure that technical decisions align with business objectives.
o Collaborate with chipset vendors, platform providers, and third- party developers to ensure alignment on technical integration efforts.
Documentation & Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (3GPP, IEEE, ETSI) and certifications for broadband devices, including radio,
networking, and security requirements.
o Oversee regulatory compliance, including testing and certification for devices (FCC, GCF/PTCRB etc.).
o Prepare comprehensive system architecture, integration documentation, and technical reports for internal teams and external stakeholders.
o Ensure that all system integration activities are well-documented and communicated across engineering, QA, and product teams.
o Innovation and Strategy: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in broadband. Drive innovation within the team and contribute to strategic planning for future device releases.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
o Proven track record of designing and integrating 4G/5G/IoT products
o Solid understanding of cellular technologies/3GPP specs (LTE, 5G NR, NB-IOT etc) and how they apply on devices , including RF, antenna systems, and core network interfaces.
o Hands on development experience on modem platforms (preferably Qualcomm/Mediatek ) . Experience with
Qualcomm/Mediatek in terms of architecture on these devices and interfaces provided ( e.g: QMI, RIL interfaces) and debugging using Qualcomm/Mediatek based tools such as QXDM, ELT.
o Solid understanding of IP networking concepts ( TCP/IP, VLAN, Bridge, EoGRE, PPPoE/IPoE etc.) and how these are
implemented/can be used on Qualcomm/Mediatek platforms to solve typical uses cases for broadband use cases.
o Implementation/Protocol level familiarity with device/cloud management protocols APs such TR-69/TR-369/ etc.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
