Job Role : EU VAT Sr. Analyst
Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and EC Sales Lists for multiple EMEA countries.
Conduct detailed VAT analysis to determine claimable and non-claimable VAT for invoices, especially those with complex or non-standard VAT treatment, considering specific EMEA country rules.
Ensure quality and legal compliance in VAT reporting through regular checks of VAT returns and other tax declarations before submission to local tax authorities.
Review and authorize VAT returns and indirect tax-related filings/payments from third-party providers.
Assist regional accounting teams with VAT .
Provide data to external shared service center for all the entities listed in Compliance calendar– Download reports; prepare the manual adjustments
Review the worksheet prepared by the 3 rd part for all the entities before submission
Prepare a quick recon between the draft workings and GL
Provide journal entries (which was not part of usual standard JE) if any to tax accounting team
Work closely with internal and external shared service centres to ensure VAT compliance across EMEA.
Coordinate with internal departments to streamline VAT reporting processes efficiently throughout the EMEA region.
Ensure that country-specific VAT information sheets and internal procedure documents for EMEA are accurate and continuously updated.
Participate in and support internal and external VAT audits and investigations by tax authorities across EMEA, preparing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.
Manage responses to VAT queries and requests from tax authorities in all EMEA jurisdictions.
Identify, prioritize, escalate, and resolve all issues surrounding VAT compliance in EMEA.
Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of posted VAT transactions within the EMEA region
Assist in VAT risk assessment and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks, ensuring compliance with diverse EMEA tax laws and internal controls
Raise the payment request and ensure payment is made before the due dates
Qualifications:
3 to 8 years of Experience in European VAT Compliance return preparation process is must
Must have good analytical skills
Must be good in Communication (Oral and Verbal).
Good attitude and ownership to drive work related activities. Should be a situational leader
