Responsible for all electrical and instrumentation engineering deliverables of the projects in design phase
Design co-ordination, specification preparation, interface management with process and mechanical teams, ensuring compliance with project standards and statutory regulations

Strategy:
Conduct kick-off meetings with process & mechanical teams to define E&I boundaries
Identify battery limits interfaces for electrical power intake, control system integration and third-party packages
Freeze project Design philosophy documents early -power distribution, control & instrumentation philosophy, earthing, safety system etc
Financial:
To study and prepare the budget of the Process Improvement Schemes of the plant and timely implementation of various CAPEX schemes through co-ordination with engineering/Project department.
Ensure achievement of cost saving initiatives to achieve targeted savings in time frame
Identify potential cost saving areas & improvement areas.
Formulate improvement proposals and ensure its implementation.
Customer/External Orientation:
Ensure that all communications from the department to customers is prompt and courteous. Work with external clients in a professional manner to deliver agreed level of service with context set by Senior Management.

Core operational accountabilities:
Process Improvement:
Shall be responsible to study the debottlenecking schemes and enhance the production capacity, improve quality, improve energy efficiency and eliminate the technical problems to enhance the safe operations.
Conceiving various improvement schemes, process feasibility study, conceptualization of detailed studies, developing techno commercial proposal and implementation.
Developing design specifications and sizing for equipments and process control strategies
Development of process documents, Design basis, Process Flow Diagrams, P & IDs and plant layouts, Heat and mass balance for improvement schemes and debottlenecking of existing plants.
Support energy efficiency improvement initiatives.
Develop, support and promote standardized systems and processes.
Identify areas of breakdowns at the Caustic Plant and rectify the issues by implementing trouble shooting tools, SPC tools etc.
HAZOP study and safety audit of the system
Interacting with technology/equipment suppliers for achieving performance parameters.
To ensure that the installed scheme is stabilized with zero defect within the specified time fulfilling all designed performance parameters. Ensure periodic reviews are undertaken for all critical Technical services inputs.
Assist in Coordination of regular meetings to address ongoing Technical services methodologies, software tools and strategies
Proactive approach to facilitate communication with various functional stakeholders
Support product and technical development strategies
Manage all information technology aspects & software, including communication infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant regulations.
Energy Conservation:
Ensure optimum Energy Consumption
To identify priority areas for improvement and implement schemes for energy savings.
Critical review of daily power consumption figures.
Benchmarking exercise.
Energy mapping & Energy Audit
Gap analysis, identification and implementation of various scheme.
Risk Management:
Identify risks from a technical, financial and EHS perspective in technical services to ensure their potential impact on the business is identified, documented and communicated.
Assist in technical risk mitigation.
Ensure that appropriate risk mitigation strategies are in place to address all identified risks.
Ensure the integrity of Technical services data and records.
Quality, Safety and Environment Observation:
Demonstrates a high concern for the health and safety of self and others. Act and lead personnel to a professional standard with respect to safety and environmental issues
Direct and monitor to ensure safety and adherence of statutory compliance related to Safety, Health and Environment to provide safe working environment
Ensure the compliance to the gaps identified during the Safety Audits.
To ensure accident free operations and ensure compliance of all safety requirements as stipulated by the Factories Act & Environment related statutory requirements.
Identify best safety practices and train the people to adopt the practices.
Percolate safety awareness in the department by interaction.
Ensure compliance to all Pollution Control norms.
Regular monitoring of cost drivers and discussion among the team for improvement.
Synergy:
Interact with other Chlor-Alkali units for benchmarking operational and maintenance parameters, adopting best practices, problem solving, share learning & Optimum utilization of resources.
System Management
To ensure implementation of Integrated Management System, British Safety Council, Responsible Care procedures and systems like TQM, TPM, KAIZEN, SIX Sigma for the function.
Review audit reports and plan for improvement
Technical Skills:
Technical knowledge combined with entrepreneurial drive.
