Job Purpose
To ensure uninterrupted and efficient operation of the raw water pump house by operating, monitoring, and maintaining pumping equipment to meet plant or process water requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Operate raw water pumps, valves, and associated equipment as per standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Operation of raw water distribution network of complex.
Monitor pump pressures, flow rates, and reservoir levels, ensuring consistent supply to the water Power plant, DM Plants , process system & VAP plant.
Carry out routine inspection and preventive maintenance checks of pumps, motors, valves, suction strainers, and pipelines distribution networks..
Start and stop pump sets as per operational schedules or instructions from shift in- charge.
Log operational data, such as pump run hours, flow meter readings, reservoir level motor amperage, and vibration/noise abnormalities.
Identify and report equipment malfunctions, leakages, or unusual readings immediately to maintenance or higher authority.
Assist maintenance team during breakdowns, overhauling, and preventive maintenance activities.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of the pump house area, including proper housekeeping and safe electrical practices.
Follow all safety protocols, PPE usage, and emergency shutdown procedures.
Maintain coordination with raw water intake, reservoir level monitoring, and power plant , Process plant, Shift Incharge & GIDC pump house operatore.
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualification:
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical.
Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of experience in operation of pump house or water utility operations, preferably in power plant or industrial setup.
Skills Required
Basic knowledge of pump and motor operations (centrifugal/submersible/vertical turbine pumps).
Ability to read and understand gauges, meters, and control panels, Control logics
Understanding of safety protocols in utility operations.
Preventive maintenance awareness and mechanical aptitude.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in shifts and during emergencies.
