Purpose of the Position (Job Summary)

To ensure safe & sustainable operation of Calcium Chloride plant as per defined plan & as per quality specification.

 Providing direction to the team to ensure departmental and operational strategies are executed in a manner that is in alignment with the organizational strategic Plan.

 Focus on cost optimization by yield improvements, raw material optimization/energy conservations and productivity improvement

 Coordinate & work closely with the internal & external stake-holders to achieve operational excellence.

 Carry out training for the team in the department as per the needs identified.

 Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are understood and

owned by the team members at various levels.

 Drive Individual development plan of the entire process team

Core operational accountabilities

 Production planning and scheduling

 Overall responsibility of the operations of assigned section in Calcium Chloride Plant and focusing on process & quality improvement.

 Ensure & Monitor day to day production plans in accordance with the monthly budget and prepare plans for process jobs (including plant shutdown and equipment shutdown).

 Process monitoring

 Monitor plant performance and give necessary directions to the team for further corrective action to ensure consistent performance.

 Monitor and evaluate the various reports of the department, (such as production report, raw-material consumption and monitoring report and process equipment performance report) & report to the plant manager.

 Resource conservation.

 Inventory planning and Budgeting

 Prepare budget in line with business budget and adhere to it.

 Ensure execution of monthly plans for procurement of raw materials for the process activities in order to have smooth functioning of department.

 Quality / Environment / Health & Safety Management

 To ensure quality adherence of the processes and initiate actions to address any quality issue.

 Review product compliance as per specifications.

 Ensure compliance to safety norms & minimize direct exposure to hazardous chemicals

 Ensure compliance to air and water pollution standards and other statutory requirements.

 Lead the initiative on ISO, Responsible Care and also ensure continuous improvement of existing departmental metrics of Production, Quality, EHS etc

 Provide Manufacturing Support in the areas of Process Development, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Documentation etc.

 Implement 5S initiative in plant and develop team members for 5S.

Technical & Behavioral Skills & Knowledge

 B.E/B.Tech – Chemical with experience of 10+ years in medium to large chemical industries. Should have previous experience of working in calcium chloride plant.

 Should possess strong attention to detail and willingness to roll up sleeves and work through any issues that emerge

 Should possess excellent interpersonal skills, team management skills & leadership skills.

 Should be able to align and engage team through effective communication. Understands and communicates the purpose and contribution of the function to the overall business strategy.

 Should have capability to build & nurture teams.

 Should have knowledge of ISO/Responsible Care standards and procedures.

 Operational knowledge of Computer including SAP.

 Should have exposure of necessary statutory compliance.

 Should have knowledge & exposure of Environment, Health & Safety requirements.
