Asst. officer/Junior officer – ALCP

Job Summary:

The candidate will support the operation of reactor and chlorine, dislodging of material, knowledge of material handling system and packing specs with good practice of safety, Planning of contractual manpower with job detailing, Daily planning of Production, maintenance & packing. Knowledge of quality-based production and achieve the target with safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

1 Contributing in achieving budgeted Anhydrous AlCl3 production for the financial year.

2 Responsible for normal operation of reactor area ,scrubber area as well as Cl2 area of AAC Plant.

3 Ensure continuous monitoring and control of all relevant parameters (Pressure, temperature, flow, level & concentration) especially chlorine flow and reactor melter level.For Scrubber (Pressure, temperature, flow, level &

concentration) especially scrubber column pressure, scrubber tanks level and concentration For Chlorine (Pressure, temperature, flow, level & concentration) especially chlorine pressure and flow.

4 Planning, executing and monitoring of critical maintenance jobs like Vapour line cleaning, reactor ash cleaning, Chlorine tube replacement, etc.

5 Routine shift activities also includes the following jobs,

1) Monitoring and recording process parameters in log book.

2) Leak check of chlorine lines with ammonia torch.

3) Check reactor melter level and instructing labor to feed aluminium ingots.

6 Recording shift activities in Area log book (Reactor,Scrubber,Chlorine ) & handing over of shift activities to reliever with adequate information for taking over of shift.

7 Planning and maintaining stock of aluminium ingots in Aluminium ingot day storage.

8 Monitoring & maintaining housekeeping of all area of AAC Plant.

9 Observing & reporting of safety violations in order to insist following of safe procedures like wearing PPE`s, follow work permit system, etc.

4 Routine shift activities also includes the following jobs, 

1) Monitoring and recording process parameters in log book.

2) Check NaOH gpl available in NaOH solution.

3) Monitoring and recording levels of Storage tanks.

5 Calculate and prepare 18 % caustic solution from 32 % caustic transferred from storage tank area.

6 Recording shift activities in Area log book & handing over of shift activities to reliever with adequate information for taking over of shift.

7 Planning & monitoring of unloading of 32% caustic & process water or tanker filling of 5% AlCl3 solution & hypo.

2 Responsible for normal operation of chlorine tonner area of AAC Plant.

4 Routine shift activities also includes the following jobs,

1) Monitoring and recording process parameters in log book.

2) Functionality check of control valve and on/off valve.

3) Leak check of chlorine gas with ammonia torch.

5 Ensure uninterrupted chlorine supply to AAC plant by precautionary unloading and supply of chlorine from chlorine tonners.

6 Recording shift activities in Area log book & handing over of shift activities to reliever with adequate information for taking over of shift.

7 Planning & monitoring of transfer of hypo solution from emergency scrubber to storage tank area.

8 Monitoring & control of return line temperature of heat pump system based on chlorine vaporiser outlet temperature. Normal operation of heat pump system to be ensured.

9 Monitoring & maintaining housekeeping of chlorine tonner area.

10 Observing & reporting of safety violations in order to insist following of safe procedures like wearing PPE`s, follow work permit system, etc.

2.Educational Qualification:

 Diploma chemical/Graduation.

3.Experience Required:

 5-6 years of relevant experience in Aluminium chloride plant handling/Cl2 handling experience.
