Main Responsibilities / Job Summary
1. Project management
Ensure clear and open communication amongst factory and market management, PTC regarding Project Scope, and deliverables. coordinate personnel (e.g., other project engineers, technicians, contractors etc.) to ensure the projects objectives are satisfied.
Propose and control the cost of the process part.
Ensure workplace safety and effective communication of Safety, Health and environment to all team members.
2. Conceptual study phase (feasibility & approval)
Ensure that all processes are designed for the long term and result in a positive impact on the company ROIC.
Support the End-to-End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
3. Design phase
Ensure that all assets are well designed (Heat & Mass Balance, Equipment sizing, PID, plant layout, Equipment selection etc.) and fit the business purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, and thorough design reviews.
Design of the Process equipment (Sizing, Selection etc.) considering current & future requirements incorporating latest approved standards in Process and energy Conservation.
Conducting Proper Risk Assessment for the design of Process Equipment (HAZOP), Explosion Risk assessment to ensure all aspects of safety are covered and taken care during design phase
Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, and reliability).
Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.
Support all Value Engineering Analysis (VEA) studies.
Ensure that the design is directed towards a low cost, highly efficient and flexible operation.
4. Implementation phase
Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g., buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS, and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.
5. Start-up / close out phase (commissioning/final report)
Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.
Ensure that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing.
Ensure that the operators, mechanics, electricians etc. are effectively trained and that the transfer of the equipment to the client is both smooth and efficient.

Nestle India Charter:
Ensures that he/she adheres to the Nestle India Charter (Nestle India Policy on
supply and distribution of Infant Milk Substitutes and Infant Foods in India). He/she
must bear in mind that the promotion and protection of Breast Feeding is important
for the infant’s health. He/she is expected to refresh his/her knowledge on the
Indian Charter (Nestle India policy on supply and distribution of Infant Milk
Substitutes and Infant Foods in India) on a periodic basis.
Main Purpose of Job
To handle the introduction of new fixed assets into the company. Manage and / or perform the design, implementation, and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, within the defined scope of responsibility or specialisation. Ensure that the objectives of the investment project charter, design specifications and Nestlé standards are implemented and adhered to. Process Engineer works in alliance with TCU and network functions to ensure that process/ manufacturing section is designed & executed properly to ensure vertical start-up.
Vertical Startup: Coordinating with different stakeholders (within & above Market) during different phases of the project to ensure Vertical startup.
▪ Cost: Prepare, Monitor, and control the budget of Process part and ensure the expenses are within budget.
▪ Timeline: Prepare, Monitor, and control the timelines to deliver Project on time.
▪ Scope: Ensure the Process is as per the agreed Scope. Any changes should be monitored and documented with the approval of relevant stakeholders and properly communicated to all.
▪ SHE: Responsible for achievement of all agreed Safety and Environment performance KPIs in his /her area of responsibility. Liase with the site Safety Officer & other stakeholders on safety reviews from design to handover. Ensure at all times the technical integrity/performance of the equipment
▪ TPM: Prepare all the relevant documents for handover to Maintenance considering AMM and TPM methodology like Maintenance Plans, Gasket Mapping, Lubrication Plan etc.
Application of Hygienic Engineering principles from design to Execution, ensuring different aspects like accessibility, maintainability & operability.
▪ Training: Lead and coordinate the Process and Mechanical execution team and maintain competencies, motivation, and performance to achieve the team’s mission and objectives.
Technical / Functional
▪ Experience in projects/ maintenance in FMCG sector.
▪ Understanding of Project Management
▪ Knowledge of project engineering, Mass & Energy Balance, Design, Planning,
and execution of Process equipment
▪ Understand food processing/ manufacturing plant and technology
▪ Food plant principles and hygienic engineering (Maintenance and Utilities)
▪ Knowledge of regulatory requirements for food safety and equipment
▪ Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers
▪ Nestlé SHE standards
▪ TPM and Early Management at Nestlé
▪ Computer knowledge (MS project, MS Excel, MS Power point, AutoCAD, Visio, etc. )
▪ Experience in managing Project Site execution of Piping, Equipment Erection, Billing verification
