Purpose of the Position (Job Summary)
Responsible to maintain the highest Quality of Process Safety standard in Caustic Plant to ensure the safe and healthy workplace by preventing or minimizing the consequences of catastrophic events.
Key Individual Accountabilities
Strategy
A structured risk-based approach to prevent catastrophic incidents and in turn, support continuity of the business and the company’s objectives by institutionalizing process safety culture within the company that focuses on building foundational knowledge and skills, particularly in the area of “operational risks”.
Consults with EHS and Operations Management to develop the process safety strategy in line with relevant legislation and Group policy/guidance.
Financial
Support major capital projects in design consulting, technical safety assurance and start-up assistance, Lead process hazard analysis and other safety reviews of chemical processes and projects
Customer/External Orientation
Coordinating with all internal team for implementing the PSM within agreed time span.
Coordinating with the external consultant for the implementation plan of PSM and sharing the progress/query
People Orientation
Deliver training in hazard identification, risk assessment techniques, process safety in design and safe operating practices for plant engineers and key operating personnel
Training the shop floor team on advantages and importance of PSM
Core operational accountabilities
Process Safety self-audits for improving effectiveness of PSM program
Support external/customer process safety audit and ensure consistent, efficient and timely compliances
Be self-motivated, proactive and self-sufficient and comfortable working independently
Be highly organized, in terms of both personal approach and reporting, to ensure all actions are suitable, practical, compliant and achievable
Competency on CCPS & OSHA PSM programs
To advise on response to process safety incidents and facilitate root cause analysis and sharing of lessons learned.
To track and press for on-time completion of high-risk actions from PSM studies/audits.

Technical & Behavioral Skills & Knowledge
Qualification:
Should be B.E (Chemical) having 10 to 12 years of experience in PSM management of a large scale chemical/
petrochemical industry. Having PDIS will be an added advantage

Leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills and people management abilities
Demonstrate Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Technical Skills:
Technical knowledge combined with entrepreneurial drive.
Understanding the key value drivers for current and new Operations
Should have knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety requirements.
Demonstrate ability to execute Process Safety Excellence initiatives.
Ability to present the findings in a clear and concise manner to top management
Ability to understand technical issues related to chemical plant and provide productivity enhancement solutions
Good command on tools like 5S, TPM, TQM, Six Sigma etc.
Good analytical skills, analyzing processes and applications, to bring in changes resulting in cost savings, energy
savings and enhanced operational efficiency.
