Job Role: IT Infrastructure Storage Administrator -24/7 Operation Team
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Storage Infrastructure Management: planning, deployment, and management of storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and object storage, to ensure high availability, data integrity, and efficient data storage.
Storage Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement storage solutions that meet the organization's data storage needs while ensuring scalability and performance.
Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor storage environments and proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring optimal data access and storage efficiency.
Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures and policies to protect data stored within the storage infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement robust backup and disaster recovery solutions for critical data to minimize downtime and data loss.
Capacity Planning: Assess storage capacity requirements and make recommendations for scaling storage resources to accommodate growing data volumes.
Automation: Utilize scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible) to streamline storage management tasks, improve efficiency, and enable self-service provisioning.
Vendor Management: Collaborate with storage vendors, evaluate new technologies, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the best value and performance for storage solutions.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies.
Threshold Competency:
Proven experience in leading storage teams.
Strong expertise in storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS, object storage).
Proficiency in storage protocols and technologies (e.g., Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex storage issues.
Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible).
Knowledge of cloud storage solutions (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob Storage) is a plus.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Storage+ or vendor-specific storage certifications (e.g., EMC, NetApp)
