Purpose of the Position (Job Summary)
Responsible for bringing excellence in Safety Management and complying to all safety requirements
Key Individual Accountabilities
Strategy
Identify, plan, develop, monitor and implement Safety Management systems at site
Create a model of continuous improvement wherein the focus is on creating value for the customers.
Financial
To study and prepare the budget for Safety & Health requirements for the plant and timely Implementation of various OPEX/CAPEX schemes.
Customer/ External Orientation
Ensure that all communications from the department to customers is prompt and effective.
Work with external clients in a professional manner to deliver agreed level of service with context set by Senior Management.
People Orientation
Lead Safety & Health operations team performance. Define KRAs, performance assessment and communication of role accountabilities and deliverables to the team & guide them.
Inspire & motivate employees through demonstrated commitment to DCM Vision and Core Values and active participation in various team engagement activities.
Foster a performance oriented environment within and beyond the department without compromising Safety & Health standards with agility and collaboration.
Core operational accountabilities
Well versed with best safety & health standards across the globe including ISO 45001, Responsible Care, British Safety Council, all relevant statutory safety & health compliance requirements.
Design, implement and monitor the safety & health management system for ensuring safe working of people and safer plant operations
Identify the systemic gaps and recommending the corrective and preventive actions for plugging those gaps with prevention in future.
Playing a role of guide for line team and handhold them to use various tools for improving lead indicators for both work place safety, process safety & contractor safety management elements.
Design training & deliver training to improve line team for various risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
Conduct incident investigation and prevention methodology with a view to deploy it horizontally.
Compile & analyze lead and lag indicators to create a trend for establishing links for prevention of incidents & tracking compliance to various action plans related to Safety health improvements.
Lead Occupational Health Center team to support routine, non-routine and emergency health support to employees and contractors
Educate personnel on company level safety & health policies, practices, and procedures
Engage with employees and contractors on the field and encourage them for safe behaviors, procedure to appreciate the good citizens.
Offer general health and safety advice to all employees
Design & conduct emergency response procedures, training, practicing it through fire drills,
mock drills and other specific emergency tests.
Identify & deliver health and safety related training to different levels of employees and contractors and track its compliance.

Qualification:
B.E/B. Tech – Chemical with experience of 15-20 years with PDIS or B.SC with Experience of 8+ years with PDIS in medium to large/medium chemical/ chloro alkali industries/petrochemical/API units.
Should have exposure of working in company where DuPont or similar comprehensive safety management system is implemented
Should possess experience in construction/project safety and manufacturing safety
Should exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, team management skills & leadership skills.
Effective communication to the shop floor team for safety activities.
