Lead Project Quality

Purpose of the Position (Job Summary)

To ensure project is executed as per defined plan & as per quality specification.

Key Individual Accountabilities

1) Strategy - Providing direction to the team to ensure departmental and operational strategies are executed in a                               manner that is in alignment with the organizational strategic Plan.

2) Financial - Focus on cost optimization by various Quality management initiatives

3) Customer/ External Orientation - Coordinate & work closely with the internal & external stake-holders to achieve  excellence.

4) People Orientation - Foster a performance oriented environment within the company without compromising standards.

- Motivate team member to demonstrate collaboration and deliver superior performance by utilizing rewards & recognition schemes like Pat on back, suggestion scheme etc.

- Carry out training for the team in the department as per the needs identified. 

- Ensure that the operating objectives and standards of performance are understood and owned by the team members at various levels

- Drive adoption of Success factors modules like PM, GM, LMS & CPM - Drive Individual development plan of the entire team

5) Core operational accountabilities - Indicative ITP input to RFQ package

- Post order set-up/maintain overall project inspection plan in consultation with project team

- Identify inspection level and scope of inspection, receive from vendors

- Facilitate and ensure that (ITP, NDT procedures, welding procedures, painting procedures, FAT/SAT procedures, testing procedures) review is completed within the specified review period

- Based on agreed and approved ITPs, supplier will raise inspection visit request through format of Notice of inspection (NOI)

- Receive inspection notification from vendors and further distribution will be made to all concerned for action

- Assigned inspection party to carry out all inspection as per NOI and after each visit, Inspection Report (IR) to be sent.

- Receive shop inspection report for review and further distribution to all concerned.

- Facilitate resolution of Concession request (CR) / Non-conformance (NC)

- Ensure respective inspection agency completed final documentation for each package before release of job.

- Ensure that Inspection Release Note (IRN) is issued by respective inspection agency, after review.

- Monitor submission of documents, dates of major inspection stages as per agreed timeline during order placement, during Kick-off meeting and during Pre-Inspection Meeting. Alarms to be raised when scheduled dates are not achieved / expected to be delayed.  

- Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedure and oversee all testing methods

- Review quality of all materials at the site and ensure compliance with all project specifications and quality and collaborate with the department for all material procurement and maintain a quality of materials. Prepare Incoming material inspection report.

- Monitor proper storage of material received.

- Maintain Quality Logsheet and record all observation, near misses ,NCRs etc, track and follow up for closure of the same.

- Monitor all quality related activities on the project

- Perform all internal and external audits

- Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.

- Attend quality management meetings

- Prepare and control the project quality system management documentation prior to project commencement.

- Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements

- Co-ordinate and monitor NDT and testing activities. Maintain documentation for the same, Coordinate all QA/QC     activities with the Project Manager

- Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site procurement manager

- Coordinate all quality related correspondence with the customers representatives

Technical & Behavioral Skills & Knowledge

-  B.E/B.Tech – Mechanical with experience of 15+ years in medium to large chemical industries.

- Should possess strong attention to detail and willingness to roll up sleeves and work through any issues

that emerge

- Should possess excellent interpersonal skills, team management skills & leadership skills.

- Should be able to align and engage team through effective communication. Understands and communicates the purpose and contribution of the function to the overall business strategy.

-Should have capability to build & nurture teams.

- Should have knowledge of ISO standards and procedures.

- Operational knowledge of Computers including SAP.

- Should have exposure of necessary statutory compliance.

- Should have knowledge & exposure of Environment, Health & Safety requirements.
