Job Description
As an Azure Cloud Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of support teams, ensuring the efficient delivery and continuous improvement of Azure cloud platform. You’ll manage round-the-clock support, provide status reporting, collaborate with vendors, and drive alignment with engineering, security, and compliance teams to implement best practices and governance policies.
Responsibilities
Managing the day-to-day activity of the operational support teams to maintain and continuously improve the organization’s Azure cloud platform delivery
Manage operational shifts and round-the-clock support
Provide management updates, status reporting, and dashboards from a platform health and security perspective
Ensures timely liaison with vendors regarding problems, fixes, and required enhancements
Apply analysis, research and problem-solving skills across a variety of systems and situations to address critical or repeat issues.
Accountable to review and provide the team with defined Cloud platform best practices, standards, procedures and process documentation
Drive and ensure alignment with Engineering peers and tech leads during strategy, planning and delivery.
Partner with security, compliance, to identify and implement solutions to address cloud platform gaps.
Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture organization in aligning the engineering execution roadmap.
Develop and maintain the cloud service catalogue to ensure all services are defined and documented.
Help in implementing technology governance policy and controls in collaboration with enterprise architecture, information security, audit, and risk control.
Always follow the company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
7+ years’ experience of working as an operations Manager with demonstrated success in operating mission critical enterprise services.
Should have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, or telecommunications.
Five years or more of IT Service Management, data centre, server, and storage management, virtualization, networking, systems management, and/or project management are recommended.
Professional with experience participating large complex enterprise-wide infrastructure projects/programs with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties.
Experience of delivering services that meet business needs and are delivered in accordance with agreed business requirements, and managing the service lifecycle
Standard infrastructure experience: Server, security, patching, monitoring, DNS, backups & disaster recovery.
Understanding of Azure Cloud Compute, storage, network, IaaS & PaaS services and emerging trends in cloud computing.
Experience supporting DevOps automation teams using tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform & Github
Able to negotiate and resolve conflicting priorities and to disseminate effectively to customers and colleagues
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Certifications
Should have relevant Azure foundation certifications and beyond.
